Hello, and welcome to my newly revamped blog! I don’t even know why I’m doing this but I’m enjoying myself and that is reason enough. The past couple of weeks or so have been the most creative I’ve been in ages - writing, painting, and even jiggling my booty to whatever music is in my head. I’ve unearthed long abandoned projects, currently breathing new life into them, and realizing that they are not so bad after all. My kitchen has been pretty busy too and my culinary experiments have been surprisingly successful, if I do say so myself. Yesterday, I made gnocchi for the first time and although it needed a bit of salt, it ended up being more than just edible.

Of course it’s not all sunshine and butterflies - I still get the occasional doldrums and self-doubts (who would I be without them?) but I’ve learned to acknowledge those voices in my head, and sometimes I even manage to tell them they’re wrong. My desk is still a mess, sleep is still elusive, and my social life is still almost nonexistent. But the creative flow has also given me back something that I’d been missing: the sense of accomplishment that comes from doing something (solitary) that I really love.

Nothing much has really changed, except I’ll also be sharing my ongoing projects - the tarot deck I’m creating, some digital collages I’ve been doing when I can’t find the wherewithal to even think, and my creative output, most of which usually just stay in the dark corners of my workstation. Again, I don’t know why I’m doing this, considering I know of only two people who read my blog (hello, P and R!) but as P told me - “Just write, babasahin ko!” Creative expression I guess, regardless if there’s an audience or not.

The creation of this website is a creative endeavor in itself, moving from the very staid Blogger to the SEO-conscious Squarespace. It’s like creating a PowerPoint presentation, but better. Progress, not perfection, as I keep reminding myself. And some sense of accountability, I guess, knowing I’m putting myself out there in the wild wild web.
