August 2026

Got my fill of Filipino food from Seda Hotel’s breakfast buffet. Sounds odd, I know, but we rarely fry dried fish at home because we live in a small condo and the smell stays for days. The photo on the right is that of my huge bag ( a gift from T) with my staycation “supplies” — planner, journal, watercolor pencils, books, and laptop.

Work sent some birthday goodies for May to August celebrants. It arrived on a stormy Sunday when I couldn’t be bothered to prepare brunch so the timing was impeccable. Although we are all individual consultants, our quarterly meetings always feel like lugaw on a rainy day — you feel that warm hug from within. So receiving the goodies on a stormy day was so on point.

I think I’m back to drawing regularly again. I’ve spent a lot of time experimenting with various materials and actually learning a lot — from mixing various media (Posca acrylic pens, Caran d’Ache Neocolor II water-soluble pastels) to finally using my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor paints (they are more gouache than watercolor!).

FridaBear and BibiBear! My niblings got me this Build A Bear Frida Kahlo on their first month in Australia! Yes, I feel so loved!

Also — Mom and Dad are home and we spent two weeks together!
