If your child goes no contact with you, refrain from going the usual route of questioning and blaming. No, your child is not an ungrateful asshole. No, they weren't influenced by their partner. No, it wasn't a sudden decision.
Instead, ask yourself: Did my child feel that they could trust me when they were growing up? Did I have their back? Did I really listen to them and did I consider their feelings? Did I try to be an example of what a compassionate, kind, nonjudgmental, and empathetic person should be? Did I respect them?
And maybe, just maybe, you'd realize that your child did have a reason to turn their back on you.
And maybe, just maybe, you'd find ways to meet them where they are right now.
